Posture as Confidence Mirror
If you a mother that care about your child body posture, such as sitting up straight, stand up without bending it is true. Recent research proves, good posture is indeed affecting one’s mind to feel more confident.
“We’re taught that sitting up straight will give a good impression on others,” said Richard Petty, one researcher and professor of psychology at Ohio State University. “But it also posture affects how the mindset of ourselves.”
Study published in European Journal of Social Psychology October’s edition, 71 records of students at Ohio State when they were in college. They have asked to sit upright, widen cests, and some are allowed to sit bent. Then they asked their feelings about the positive or negative behavior that they show when they sat bent or straight.
“Posture that upright, it gives them more confidence in their minds, no matter they are feeling positive or negative,” said Petty. “People assume that confidence comes from the mind. They do not realize their posture will affect their confidence in what they think. If they realize this, posture will not give that much effect. “
