Normal Weight Can Reduce Dementia Risk

The normal weight can reduce the risk of dementia, or a decline in intelligence due to reduced brain mass. What is the relationship? Maybe not directly, but a study conducted the University of California, proving that people who have a lower body weight have a lower risk of suffering from a reduction of the brain.

Research led by Paul Thompson studied 94 volunteers aged 70 in which the researchers found that volunteers with a body mass index higher brain has a period smaller than volunteers with a lower body mass index.

The explanation is the people with greater weight have insulin levels and high blood sugar is one of the factors responsible for the decrease in brain tissue mass, and dementia.

Weight greater also increase the risk of narrowing of blood vessels which reduces the supply of oxygen to the brain.

The study shows quantitatively that the fifty-one people with excess weight of 94 volunteers who observed that has a smaller mass brains than those who had normal weight, while 14 people suffering from obesity has eight percent of brain mass was smaller than volunteers who have a normal weight.

Fat people also have a brain condition that eight years older than the brains of lean, and the brains of people who suffer from obesity was 16 years older than the brains of lean in the same age group.

And finally, advice from scientists that sport and exercise were able to reduce the risk of brain tissue mass reduction (brain tissue) is equivalent to a reduction in brain tissue mass due to obesity.

Although no direct suggestions for diet of the study, a minimum fasting could also be an opportunity to lose weight.
